Near Ocean Medical Kit (NOM)
For vessels cruising within 150 nautical miles of the coast, the Near Ocean Medical Kit (NOM) provides the necessary equipment to manage minor medical issues and stabilise more serious conditions until professional help arrives. Designed for independence at sea, this kit ensures crews are well-prepared while sailing in areas within reach of rescue services, such as helicopters.
Suitable for
The Near Ocean Medical Kit is ideal for private vessels undertaking non-commercial activities in coastal and offshore waters, including:
- Cruising the Baltic Sea and Northern European coastline.
- Mediterranean seasons and the Western seaboard of Europe.
- Coastal voyages along the Eastern seaboard of the Americas and the Caribbean.
Recommended for crews with first aid training, this kit is even more effective when paired with telemedical support, enabling remote consultation with medical professionals if needed.
Kit Contents
The NOM is supplied in one rugged Pelicase to ensure durability in marine environments, with an alternative soft bag option available. It is formulated for up to ten crew, with the option to expand for up to twenty crew using an adjunct bag.
Its modular design allows for quick access to the most commonly required treatments, ensuring ease of use in an emergency. The kit can also be upgraded to the Distant Ocean Medical Kit (DOM) for vessels undertaking longer trans-ocean passages.
