Race Team Medical Kit
The Race Team Medical Kit is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of a race team operating a race boat, whether racing inshore or offshore. These teams often have a chase boat operating inshore and a shore-based support container, all of which require appropriate medical equipment for immediate response to any medical situation that may arise during races.
Suitable for
The Race Team Medical Kit is ideal for race crews who have advanced first aid training and, ideally, access to telemedical support. It is tailored for private vessels involved in non-commercial activities. The kit can be supplemented with additional modules or kits, such as oxygen, defibrillators, and advanced therapy options, to ensure comprehensive care is available for all potential situations.
Kit Contents
The Race Team Medical Kit is divided into three essential parts:
1. Race Boat Kit
The Race Boat Kit is designed to facilitate immediate stabilisation and treatment of trauma during inshore racing, before evacuation is possible. Due to the constraints of weight and space on the race boat, this kit contains only the essential emergency medicines and equipment required to manage trauma. This kit remains on the race boat during offshore races to ensure quick access to medical supplies during high-pressure situations.
2. Chase Boat Kit
To minimise the weight on the race boat during inshore races, the Chase Boat Kit holds additional medical supplies that are not critical for immediate trauma care. It remains on the chase boat during inshore races but is transferred to the race boat for offshore races, where it combines with the Race Boat Kit to provide a comprehensive offshore medical kit. The combined kit is equipped to manage a variety of medical issues on board or provide stabilisation to sick or injured crew members until professional medical help can be reached.
3. Shore Kit
Accidents can occur at the dockyard or marina just as much as on the water. The Shore Kit is designed to treat minor injuries and illnesses that happen while the support team is on land. This kit allows the team to handle these situations efficiently without the need to immediately rely on local medical facilities.
