Sports Fish Medical Kit
The Sports Fish Medical Kit is designed for vessels undertaking voyages far from immediate reach of rescue services, such as offshore in the Atlantic, during seasons in the Caribbean, or through the Panama Canal and further west. These types of voyages take vessels to areas where high-quality, definitive medical help could be several days away. This kit provides the necessary equipment to treat a variety of problems onboard or stabilise injured or ill crew members until professional medical assistance can be reached.
Suitable for
The Sports Fish Medical Kit is ideal for private vessels undertaking non-commercial activities. It is intended for boat crews who have received first aid training, with the added benefit of telemedical support in critical situations. The kit is essential for vessels that operate far offshore or in remote locations, where immediate access to medical care is not available. This kit enables the crew to manage a wide range of medical issues onboard and maintain stability until help arrives.
Kit Contents
The Sports Fish Medical Kit is usually supplied in three Pelicases, ensuring that the contents remain in excellent condition in the harsh marine environment. However, a soft bag alternative is available if preferred. The kit is designed for up to 10 crew members, with the option to expand for up to 20 crew members with the addition of an adjunct bag. It includes an intuitive series of modules that address the most common range of treatments required on the water. Key components of the kit include:
- First aid supplies for treating minor injuries and common illnesses.
- Trauma care equipment for stabilising serious injuries before evacuation.
- Oxygen therapy supplies to support crew members in distress.
- Airway management tools to assist in maintaining clear airways for unconscious casualties.
- Medications for pain relief, allergies, and other typical marine health concerns.
- Defibrillator for managing cardiac emergencies (optional).
- Advanced therapy equipment for critical care situations (optional).
For vessels with larger crews, additional supplies such as a Paediatric Medical Kit, advanced therapy kits, or other specialised equipment can be added as required.
